Our building is open for worship! Here are a few things to know about worship as we strive to keep everyone safe & healthy!
*Masks are required. I will preach from on the pulpit and serve as liturgist as well so no microphones will be shared.*There will be no passing of the peace. *Offering plates will be at each entrance, and when that time comes, you can go drop your envelope in the nearest receptacle.*Worshippers can sit in family groups, but available pews are marked to comply with social distancing rules.*There will be no nursery available, so please bring something to occupy your children. Services will be kept shorter to help your sanity!*Science has proven that the virus can survive on surfaces up to 3 days; therefore, pew Bibles and hymnals can be used, since we touch them only once a week.*On communion Sundays, there will be two stations where you may come and take a pre-filled wafer/juice combination cup (remaining socially distant), return to your pews, and we will open them and partake of the elements together.
These changes have been incorporated for our protection as we avoid becoming sick; but we get to be together once again, joyfully praising the Lord who loves our worship and is mightier than any virus!
Daily Devotions Click here for daily devotions provided by PC USA. Baptism In Baptism, we participate in Jesus' death and resurrection; we die to what seperates us from God and are raised to newness of life in Christ. Baptism points us back to the grace of God expressed in Jesus Christ, who died fo us and who was raised for us. Baptism points us forward to that same Christ who will fulfill God's purpose in his promised future.First Presbyterian Church celebrates the sacrament of Baptism several times a year. Both believers and their children are included in God's redeeming grace offered to all people. The Baptism of children witnessess to the truth that God's love claims people before they are able to respond in faith. The Baptism of those who enter the covenant upon their own profession of faith witnesses to the truth that God's gift of grace calls for fulfillment in a response of faithfulness. If you or your child have not been baptized and you feel God's call, contact the pastor. She will guide you through the process, instructing you in the Sacrament's meaning and your responsibility to the church and God. After authorization by the Session, a date is chosen, and the congregation will celebrate this special day with you. Weddings
